After Care

All you need to know about after care protection.

Even though parts are returned to you looking like new or even better, in time they will still need to be kept clean from dirt and salt. Oxidisation may form on your aluminium parts if left dirty.

For a good aftercare protection you can use ACF-50, CRC Long Life Anti Rust Lubricant or CRC LanoCote Lanolin. These are produced in aerosol form. They are thinly and evenly sprayed onto parts giving a clear layer of protection that can last up to 12 months.

If you are going to have your part plated, no coating / spray should be used.

ACF-50, Anti-Corrosion Formula, is a state of the art, anti-corrosion/lubricant compound, that has been specifically designed for the Aero Space Industry. It can be described as an ultra thin fluid film compound which must be applied on an annual basis.

CRC Long Life, Providing superior lubrication and long-term rust prevention to all metals subjected to rust and salt corrosion. It is an excellent rust inhibitor and lubricant for extending the life of metal to metal sliding/rotating surfaces. CRC Long Life Anti Rust penetrates and coats the metal surfaces, displacing moisture and providing rust protection, preventing future moisture contamination.

CRC LanoCote Lanolin,CRC LanoCote provides long-term natural protection for metals from the corrosive effects of salt, acids and most alkalis and inhibits oxidation and galvanic corrosion even in extremely corrosive conditions. It provides superior natural protection for machinery and threaded devices exposed to corrosion.

Vapour Blasting

Vapour blasting, also known as Aqua, Vapor, Wet Honing, Water and Wet blasting, is a great way to restore metal components to a "like new" condition, cleaning to the highest standard and producing a smooth, satin finish.

Vapour blasting uses water and mildly abrasive media to clean metal surfaces without actually wearing away any of the metal - unlike sand-blasting which is a far more destructive process. The end result is a far finer finish and no abrasive media is left behind because it is all washed away with the water.
